last things
ESCHATOLOGY-the study of last things including the fulfillment of God’s plan of redemption for man and the order of events leading to eternity.
LAST THINGS
I believe Jesus Christ will rapture his church (I Thess. 4:16-17) before the 7 year tribulation period, followed by the establishment of His 1000 year reign (Rev. 20:1-7), followed by the judgment of all who have rejected His offer of forgiveness (Rev. 20:7).
death
All of mankind will experience physical death, but our immaterial consciousness will remain alive (Rev. 6:9-11).
Those are believers will experience a bodily resurrection eternal relationship/life (John 6:39; Rom. 8:10-11, 19-23; 2 Cor. 4:14).
Those who rejected Jesus Christ will be resurrected to judgement and eternal punishment (Dan. 12:22; John 5:29; Rev. 20:13-15).
The unsaved will be cast into hell, cut off from God for ever (Dan. 12:2; Matt. 25:41-46; 2 Thess. 1:7-9).
The second coming & the millennial reign
At beginning of 1000 year reign, the Antichrist, the false prophet and Satan will be bound for the millennium (Rev. 20:1-7).
Jesus Christ will come and sit on throne of David (Matt. 25:31; Luke 1:32-33; Acts 1:10-11; 2:29-30).
From the throne he will establish the 1000 year messianic kingdom (the millennium) on earth (Rev. 20:1-7).
1000 year kingdom is the fulfilling of God’s promise to Israel to restore them to the land they forfeited as a result of disobedience (Isaiah 65:17-25; Ezek. 37:21-28; Zech. 8:1-7; Deut. 28:15-68; Romans 11:25-29).
During the Lord’s reign there will be justice, peace, righteousness and long life (Isaiah 11; 65:17-25; Ezek. 36:33-38).
The 1000 years will end when Satan is released one final time (Rev. 20:7).
the rapture of the church
Jesus Christ will bodily return before 7 year tribulation (1 Thess. 4:16; Titus 2:3).
At this event he will take his followers; the church, from this earth (John 14:1-3; 1 Cor. 15:51-53; 1 Thess. 4:15-5:11).
The judgement of the lost
When Satan is released he will deceive the nations and battle against believers and the beloved city (Rev. 20:8-9).
Satan and his army will be devoured by fire from heaven (Rev. 20:9).
Satan is then thrown into eternal lake of fire and sulfur (Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10).
All will be judged (John 5:22) at the great white throne judgement where the great and small will be judged (Rev. 20:11-13).
After the physical resurrection of the unsaved and their judgement they will be thrown into the lake of fire for an eternal conscious punishment (2 Thess. 1:9; Rev. 20:11-15; Matt. 25:41).
The tribulation period
The righteous judgements of God will poured out upon the unbelieving world (Jer. 30:7; Dan. 9:27; 12:1; 2 Thess. 2:7-12; Rev. 16)after the rapture (John 14:1-3).
After this righteous judgement Christ will return to earth in His glory (Matt.24:27-31; 25:31-46; 2 Thess. 2:7-12).
Old Testament and tribulation saints will be raised and the living will be judged (Dan. 12:2,3; Rev. 20:4-6).
Daniel’s 70th week prophecy is fulfilled (Daniel 9:24-27; Matt. 24:15-31; 25:31-46).
eternity
Believers will enter into the eternal state of glory with God (Rev. 20:15).
The physical earth will be destroyed and replaced with a new earth (2 Peter 3:10; Rev. 21:1).
The heavenly city will come down out of heaven (Rev. 21:2).
The heavenly city will be the dwelling place of the saints (John 17:3; Rev. 21-22).
Jesus Christ’s redemptive mission will be complete when he delivers the kingdom with the saints to God the Father (1 Cor. 15:23-28).
