MAN

ANTHROPOLOGY-the study of the creation of man in God’s image and the fall of man into sin.

mAN

I believe man was directly created by God and without sin, in order to glorify God. However, due to Adam’s disobedience to the will of God (Gen. 2:16-17; 3:1-19) all men are inherently born sinful (Romans 3:23; Jer. 17:9).

  • Created in the image and likeness of God (Gen. 2:7).

  • Created free of sin, with intelligence, a will, and a moral responsibility to God (Gen. 2:15-19; James 3:9).


man created for God

  • God intended that man should glorify him through obedience (Isaiah 43:7; Col. 1:16; Rev. 4:11).

Man chose to disobey

  • All men lost innocence through Adam’s/Eve’s sin of disobedience (Gen. 2:16-17; 3:1-19; Romans 3:23).

  • All men are guilty and now subject to God’s wrath (John 3:36; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3).

  • All men are inherently corrupt and in need of God’s grace to choose or be obedient to God (Ephesians 2:4-10).
