Pride & Note to self

Pride is at the root of my every stumbling into sin. My sin looks like throwing my fist up in the face of God in disobedience (Genesis 3:4-6). Pride is what keeps us from the gospel and loving others well. So today when I’m feeling ‘all that about myself’ I will remind myself of God’s glory, the gravity of my sin (self righteousness, striving to be somebody, divorce-to name a few), the brutal murder of Christ on my behalf, and the fact that I deserve hell. “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before stumbling” (Proverbs 16:18).
